150th Anniversary of the Catholic Church of St Pancras

in Ipswich, Suffolk; 12th to 15th May 2011

Programme of events

During the celebration of our anniversary the Church will be open as usual and there will be volunteers on hand from10am to 4pm, to meet you and answer your questions as best they can. We hope you will enjoy this occasion with us.

Thursday 12th May the Feast of Saint Pancras

Open church – flower festival

12.00pm Recitation of the Angelus

12.15pm Holy Mass

   7.30pm  Mass and Youth interest meeting for young people

Friday 13th May

7.00am   Holy Mass

 9.30am  Morning Prayer in Lady Chapel

       Open church – flower festival

8.00pm           Overnight adoration of the Blessed Sacrament begins

You are invited to join us to spend time in silent prayer with our Lord Jesus Christ, present in body blood soul and divinity. There will be people in church all night

 

Saturday 14th May

8.00am Conclusion of overnight adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

       Open church – flower festival

 9.15am  children's open activities morning in hall

       First Holy Communion lesson in church

9.45am Boat building competition judging in the garden

10.45am  Holy Mass

11-11.15am Sacrament of reconciliation and Rosary

2.00pm Private wedding service – Pickering Family

6.00pm Holy Mass with Latin chants

Formal cheese and wine reception with St Pancras pie to mark the 150th anniversary of this parish, community and Church Building

Sunday 15th May

Open church – flower festival

9.30am   Holy Mass

11 am    Holy Mass

       Formal close of this celebration to mark this anniversary year
